The Police Unity Tour was organized in an effort to bring about public awareness of law enforcement officers that have died in the line of duty and to honor their sacrifices. Currently there have been more than 18,000 officers killed in the line of duty in the United States dating back to 1792. The motto of the Police Unity Tour is simple, yet poignant, "We Ride For Those Who Died." Additionally, we assist the National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial Fund with monetary support. This mission is primarily accomplished through an annual bicycle trek from various points across the United States to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial, located in Washington, D.C. The Police Unity Tour has several chapters throughout the country and a membership of about 1000 individuals.
Each year law enforcement officers from all over the United States participate in a fund raising bicycle ride from New Jersey to Washington D.C. Over 4 days the riders complete a distance of over 300 miles. It's a ride to raise funds for the National Law Enforcement Memorial, pay tribute to the officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty, and support the families of these officers by reminding them they will never be alone.
