The Detective Unit is responsible for the follow-up of all serious crimes committed in the town of Holliston. In addition, the detective unit is responsible for cooperating fully with other units within the Department and other agencies within our jurisdictions.
The goal of the unit is to conduct investigations and provide criminal records and other information to the Department and other agencies. Additionally, detectives help in the apprehension of suspects or offenders, and acts as a liaison between our Department and all similar bureau or units in other police departments and law enforcement agencies.
The Detective Unit's main objective is to work hand-in-hand with the patrol officers in order to identify and apprehend criminal offenders, with special emphasis on the investigation of major crimes. Through this cooperation, both units operate efficiently to apprehend offenders and resolve cases. Patrol officers' reports are coupled with the investigations of the Detective Unit and are subsequently presented to the District Attorney's Office.
